Mild Weather Allows Bellevue Fire Department to Fine-Tune Ladder Truck

While the recent mild weather may not improve the conditions for fun outdoor winter activities, it did allow for the Fire Department to get outside and test the recently repaired valves on the Ladder truck. When a Ladder truck has a pump on it, as Ladder 511 does, it is technically known as a Quint. The advantage to having a pump on a Ladder is that it allows for the truck to flow its own water. Essentially, a Quint can operate as both an Engine and a Ladder. The truck can now supply water to the big master stream at the top of the ladder and to the smaller hoses known as hand lines. The Bellevue Fire Department is happy to report that all repairs are performing well and the leaks have been stopped!
