A
number of surrounding communities have established a permit process for
the keeping of chickens in residential areas. At this time the Village
of Bellevue has not approved a process for this. Therefore, the keeping
of chickens in residential neighborhoods is a violation of the Municipal
Code and if discovered, the chickens will need to be removed.
Chickens
are permitted to be kept on properties that are zoned AG - Agricultural
or RR – Rural Residential. If you have any questions or need to verify
