Village Adopts Updated Urban Forestry Plans

At the July 27th Village Board meeting, the Board unanimously approved the adoption of both an 2017–2021 Urban Forestry Strategic and 2017–2021 Urban Forestry Management Plan.

The Urban Forestry Strategic Plan guides administrative actions and establishes forestry goals for the coming years. The Urban Forestry Management Plan reviews the current tree inventory and identifies areas of need in order to strengthen the urban forest canopy. Both plans are effective for five years.
Previous versions of these plans were adopted in 2009.

The Village was awarded a 2016 Urban Forestry grant by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Revisions and updates to plans were made as part of this grant. Those wishing to view these plans may find them online at the Village’s website under Urban Forestry.
