The Fire Department would like to send out a quick reminder and safety tip. This past weekend was daylight savings and we have sprung ahead one hour. With this time change comes a great reminder to change the batteries in your smoke and CO detectors. We recommend that you change these batteries twice a year to ensure that they are in proper working order. When you change the batteries also check the date of manufacture for each detector. Most detectors are good for 10 years before expiring and require replacing. Remember, working smoke and CO detectors save lives. Thank you and make it a safe day!
