Garbage & Recycling Hauler Transition - Final Update

All Harter’s new garbage and recycling carts have been delivered in the Village and our new provider has been collecting garbage and recycling since September 1. Harter’s has ordered new garbage and recycling trucks for Bellevue collection that are expected to be on our roads by December 2014.

For those residents who have requested with the Village Office that they wanted the smaller 65 gallon carts instead of the larger 95 gallon carts as delivered in August, the switch will occur the week of October 13th on each resident’s normal garbage and recycling day. Garbage and recycling pick up will occur as scheduled for the 95 gallon carts. A second truck will come through to switch out the 95 gallon carts for the 65 gallon carts. The Village Office will continue to take requests to switch carts to the smaller size until noon on Friday, October 10. To request a switch please call our Village Office at 468-5225 and ask for Victoria. Residents can also email their requests, concerns, comments, and questions to Garbage.Recycling@villageofbellevue.orgOnly those residents on the list will receive smaller carts.

If any residents still have Advanced Disposal (Veolia) carts, the Village Office is maintaining a list for collection. Please contact us at 468-5225 or email with your address so these old carts can be properly turned in. We would like to make sure that all the carts are collected before winter.

Additional questions can be emailed to or call 468-5225 and ask for Victoria. We thank all our residents for their patience and cooperation as we continue to work through this transition.
