Board To Consider Sports Complex Master Plan

The Village Board will be reviewing and possibly adopting a formal master plan of the Shaha Memorial park site at their meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 11th.  The plan calls for 10 multi-purpose athletic fields.  Two of the planned fields will be considered "championship" fields where bleacher seating, lighting and artificial turf is planned.  The park plan also includes a significant trail system, pavilions, restrooms, and off-street parking.
A copy of the plan can be found below.

The overall campus is planned to accommodate youth soccer, football, rugby, lacrosse and other field sports.  The goal is to provide a place for area youth to play organized sports and to attract major regional tournaments; providing a significant economic boost to the area.

Funding to develop the site will come from both Village funds and private donations.  The land acquisition and up to $2.25 million of the development costs will be provided by the Village.  An estimated $5-6 million dollars is planned to be raised privately through donations, sponsors and private grants programs by the Bay Area Recreational Campus, Inc.

Village staff will be available prior to the Board meeting for public input on the proposed master plan on Wednesday, April 11th from 6-6:30pm.  Questions and comments can also be directed to Joel Gregozeski, at (920) 468-5225 or by email at
