Dog Park Open House Planned For January

The Leisure Services Department, Friends of Bellevue Parks, Oak View Veterinary Hospital and a group of volunteer citizens are working to create and operate a community dog park in the Village of Bellevue. The group's mission is to facilitate the development, operation and maintenance of an off-leash dog park in the Village.

The Village's Leisure Services Department invites citizens to attend an open house / public information meeting on the possible development of a community dog park in Bellevue. Although a small group of dedicated volunteers have begun efforts to develop a dog park, village staff are looking for additional interested citizen volunteers to help coordinate efforts.

The informal gathering will take place on Monday, January 23, 2012 from 6:30 pm to 7:30pm at the Bellevue Village Hall / Public Safety Building (3100 Eaton Road).

What is a Community Dog Park?
A place where our best friends have a place to run, roll around in mud, meet new four-legged friends and even catch a ball or Frisbee.

Where is the proposed Bellevue Community Dog Park?
The proposed site is located at VandenHeuvel Park, 2282 Bellevue Street. This 22.5 acre park site is located just south of State HWY 172 along the banks of the East River. The majority of this park is part of the East River Parkway & Trail.
