Village Board To Discuss 2012 Fiscal Year Budget

2012 is several months away, however the Village Board of Trustees will begin discussion on next fiscal year's budget. Much of the initial discussion will be centered on proposed cuts in state shared revenue and the impact on revenues from the loss.

Based on what is currently proposed, the Village stands to lose approximately $226,371 in state aids to the village's general fund. In addition to cuts in revenue, the Village will also face increased costs in fuel, debt proceeds and public safety in 2012.

In the event the budget repair bill is enacted, savings from retirement and health insurance contributions will not equal the proposed cuts in state aid.

The scheduled work session will likely be the first of many work sessions; as the Village Board will need to determine how to balance the budget with service reductions or revenue enhancements.

The first work session meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17th 6:30pm at the Public Safety Building / Village Hall (3100 Eaton Road). The meeting agenda can be found at the Village's website: http://www.villageofbellevue.org.

For more information contact the Village Administrator, Aaron Oppenheimer at (920) 468-5225.
